Support Tattoos And Piercings At Work

Professionalism isn’t based on how you look, it’s based on how you interact and treat others. The Support Tattoos and Piercings at Work cause (STAPAW) is dedicated to the millions of hard-working tattooed and pierced employees all over the world. We believe negative stereotypes and discrimination are dissolved not by words, but by actions, work ethic and character.

You don’t need to have tattoos or piercings to support the cause of piercing and tattoo acceptance in the workplace. STAPAW encourages the non-tattooed and non-pierced community to base opinions of the individual on their merit, and not presuppositions. STAPAW is a movement of consumers who are stating we don’t mind purchasing products or services from businesses that hire tattooed or pierced employees...in fact we support it!

Tattoos And Piercings In The Workplace

Having employees with tattoos and piercings in the workplace does not scare away customers. Over 40% of American adults have a tattoo, and 60% of American adults have piercings. Tattoos and piercings are no longer unprofessional. At the end of the day, businesses benefit from having the most highly qualified, trained, educated, and experienced staff. If that staff happens to have tattoos or piercings, it might be time to hire the “best thing” for your business.

It’s not wrong to fire someone with tattoos or piercings. It’s not wrong to not hire someone with tattoos and piercings. It is uneconomical and unethical  to do either of these for superficial reasons, instead of reasons based on skill, experience, education, and character. Read more here .
